Anyway

Some people are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, some people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds. Think big anyway! What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway! * From “Anyway” by Dr. Kent Keith

Senior Banking

Good morning friends Seniors Banking. Shown below, is an actual letter that was sent to a bank by an 86 year old woman. The bank manager thought it amusing enough to have it published in the London Times. Dear Sir: I am writing to thank you for bouncing my cheque with which I endeavoured to pay my plumber last month. By my calculations, three nanoseconds must have elapsed between his presenting the cheque and the arrival in my account of the funds needed to honour it. I refer, of course, to the automatic monthly deposit of my entire pension, an arrangement which, I admit, has been in place for only eight years. You are to be commended for seizing that brief window of opportunity, and also for debiting my account £30 by way of penalty for the inconvenience caused to your bank. My thankfulness springs from the manner in which this incident has caused me to rethink my errant financial ways. I noticed that whereas I personally answer your telephone calls and letters, when ...

Simplicity

SIMPLICITY: Simplicity is not simply living. It means simple living. It has an intentional tone to it. Removing the letters "S" in the front and "Y" at the back, one will find the word IMPLICIT. FREE Thinker

This may come as a surprise to many of my friends. Yes, I am a free-thinker. My spiritual belief in God sets my mind free and from all  the negativity. Unfortunately, a busy mind is a characteristic of the modern lifestyle. Many had found it hard to fall asleep due to the constant barrage of thoughts that keeps running in our heads. Research has shown that such rumination can be harmful in the following ways: * It affects our sleep and rest * Triggers our stress response * Kills our creativity * Hypersensitive towards people who are around us * Negatively affects our physical, mental, and emotional health. For some, their minds are trapped in their past negative experiences that robbed them of enjoying their current moments. If our thoughts become stuck, it’s time to take steps to free our minds. Here are four simple suggestions on how we can F.R.E.E. our minds: F - FAITH: In his research, Richard Sloan, a professor of behavioral medicine at Columbia University Medical...

Childlike Traits

5 BENEFITS OF CHILDLIKE TRAITS “All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” – Pablo Picasso “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” - Jesus As we age, we may gain wisdom and experience, but we can also lose our childlike passion for happiness and fun. Although we cannot return to our childhood years, we can still recapture the kind of traits that we had as kids. By this, it does not means behaving childishly. For sure, children are easily fooled and led astray and in their innocence, they tend to be drawn to myths and fantasies. That is not what it meant by having childlike traits. It is about letting go of the adult role and become the child once in a while and laugh at silly jokes, singing (out of tune!), having party games, or blowing and popping balloons! All these can be amazingly energizing and help boosts a huge amount of physical, psychological and emotional benefit for us. ...

Forgiveness

“Without forgiveness, life is governed by an endless cycle of resentment and retaliation.” — Roberto Assagioli Forgiveness is a cognitive and emotional process that eradicates chronic hostility, rumination, and their adverse effects (Worthington et al., 2007). It is a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or a desire for revenge against someone who has hurt you. It also means that the offender does not have to accept your forgiveness, apologize, or admit that they hurt you for forgiveness to take place. As such, forgiveness is ultimately about YOU and not about the offender. * YOU are the one who can free yourself from the hurt, anger, resentment, and vengeance. * YOU have to make the choice (sometimes daily) to release resentment and let go of past hurts. * YOU have the power to decide to move on to a better future. Forgiveness can benefit your mind and body. Studies have shown that forgiveness reduces rates of anxiety and depression, contributes ...

People need the Lord

Image
A song that speaks the truth about mankind's heart conditions and what Christians are called to do - to share life with everyone. Sing-along version Keyboard version People Need the Lord Steve Green Everyday they pass me by I can see it in their eyes Empty people filled with care Headed who knows where On they go through private pain Living fear to fear Laughter hides their silent cries Only Jesus hears People need the Lord, people need the Lord At the end of broken dreams, He's the open door People need the Lord, people need the Lord When will we realize people need the Lord? We are called to take His light To a world where wrong seems right What could be too great a cost For sharing life with one who's lost? Through His love our hearts can feel All the grief they bear They must hear the words of life Only we can share People need the Lord, people need the Lord At the end of broken dream...
